Der Weltacker: 2000 qm für alle

There is much to discover on the World Acre – from the beauty of old cereal varieties to the dramatic developments in agriculture. Photograph: die Auslöser Berlin

If we were to divide the total global surface area of arable land by the number of people living on the planet, each person would get 2000m² (half an acre). On this tiny spot everything must grow that a human needs to live. The World Acre in the Berliner Botanischer Volkspark Blankenfelde-Pankow lets us grasp this personal connection with global agriculture in a sensual way.
